Determining Case Size
To determine the appropriate size case you need, measure the length, width and height (at the greatest point) of the object you would like to encase. Take into consideration if the object should be shipped as one unit, or taken apart and shipped in pieces. For example, on our lamp, we will measure the height, width, and depth of the lamp shade, and the height, width and depth of the stand, and then use the largest measurement to determine the case size.

Our measurements yield the following:
Lamp Shade:Lamp Stand:
Height H1: 9"Height H2: 18.5"
Width W1: 17"Width W2: 9"
Length L1: 17"Length L2: 9"

We must then add 4" to each of the measurements to allow for foam to cushion our lamp. Unless you are shipping something that does not need cushioning, you should always plan for at least 4 of cushion (2" on either side of the object). If in doubt, call a Cases-Cases™ representative to help you determine the appropriate case size.
